East London, particularly Hoxton and Brick Lane is having its moment and was certainly the place to Party on Thursday. What better excuse than to celebrate Men’s File and Clutch magazine coming together in one package for the reader to anticipate.
I’d not been to Brick Lane since living in Bethnal Green in the mid 80s and as we partied opposite cutting edge shops such as Son of a Stag I marvelled at the arrival of this area that previous decades had ravaged.
I left Toulouse at 4.45pm , arrived in Dray Walk off Brick Lane E1 for 8.30pm and was met with full force by the launch of Men’s file and clutch magazines.
The Uk’s top metalfinishers, fabricators and customisers were partying alongside the very best visionists from the world of classic timeless fashion. Role perfect rednecks ,hipsters, spivs, surfers and rockers were all there in force whilst the music blasted and Sailor Jerry was poured down throats
No doubt people were there to be seen as much as to party judging by the amount of cameras flashing.
As always, Nick Clements was not fazed by the event and the thoroughly deserved praise he was receiving, making time to talk to everyone.
As one would expect the historic motor industry was represented with a stunning mid 60s big block Vette, ‘68 BMW 3.0 CSI, an A series 356 Porsche parked next to early British two wheeled classics and Italian scooters. The current growing appreciation for 50ccs was proven by the number parked round the corner where Fizzys, AP50s,SS50s and a Minarelli 50cc café racer all rested on their centre stands.
Men’s file has led the way in offering its readers the opportunity to peruse its pages filled with the very best in classical active menswear and Thursday was a great way to celebrate this. Thanks for a great night.
